About Aunt Sally's Pralines
Aunt Sally’s Pralines was founded by our family in the tightly-knit French Creole community of New Orleans in the early 1900s. Nearly a century ago, our founding family members, Diane and Pierre Bagur, lit a fire under a copper pot to bring our family’s confectionary culture and love of New Orleans to the world. With the family recipe for French Creole-style Pralines, Diane and Pierre knew they could sweeten up their community and eventually the world! In 1935 they opened the first Aunt Sally’s Praline Shop in the historic French Market, where they sold their delicious handmade pralines along with a collection of retail merchandise representing New Orleans culture and French Creole traditions. We pour our pralines fresh daily, and we make a multitude of different pralines to entice every kind of praline enthusiast. Our Original Pralines are true to the original French Creole-style family recipe. Still cooked and poured by hand, each Original Praline is a thin, slightly crispy pecan candy, made in classic and chocolate flavors. Our Creamy Pralines are a perfect blend of American-style pralines and our Creole French Family traditions. We pioneered the creation of American Creamy Pralines by adding a secret blend and some cream to make pralines that feel and taste like a rich, indulgent fudge with all the sweetness of our Original Pralines. Our Chewy Pralines are a decadent blend of rich caramel with a heaping mound of Louisiana pecans finished with the elegant taste of pure vanilla. In over 80 years, we have grown in fans all across the nation. In order to better serve our growing fan base, we grown to serving up pralines through grocery stores, restaurants, hotels, and our local airport. And y’all don’t forget our doors are open 24/7/365 online!
