About Aurora Historical Society
Founded in 1963, the Aurora Historical Society is an independent, non-profit organization dedicated to heritage education for all ages. For the last 60 years, the AHS has worked to preserve and promote Aurora’s local heritage by offering innovative programming, hosting unique events, and making the town’s history accessible through a wide range of exhibitions. As the owner and operator of Hillary House National Historic Site - the Koffler Museum of Medicine since 1981, the AHS is responsible for restoring and caring for this significant landmark. Hillary House is one of the best examples of Gothic Revival architecture in Canada and serves as a cultural hub and museum with an extensive collection of medical instruments, historic artifacts, and archival documents.
