About Australian Air Mobility CRC
The Australian Air Mobility Cooperative Research Centre (AAM CRC), formerly the Advanced Air Mobility CRC (also AAM CRC), will catalyse a dynamic new aviation sector for Australia by leveraging established aerospace capability and supporting growth of emerging aviation technology companies. The AAM CRC will drive the realisation of the world’s most advanced air mobility network connecting regional Australia and removing the tyranny of distance for communities through significantly improved aviation services. The AAM CRC will strategically integrate researchers and industry including airlines, airports, operators, aviation services, developers, OEMs, suppliers, customers, communities, regulators, and policymakers to undertake and deliver mission-focussed cooperative research and development in the AAM ecosystem. Over a 10-year, whole-of-industry uplift, the AAM CRC will support long-term advancements in vehicle design, operations, and physical and digital infrastructure for developing sovereign industry capabilities to supply AAM products and services for Australia and export. The AAM CRC will research social and environmental challenges in the context of advanced air mobility to better address them for introducing it in remote, regional, and urban areas. Across four mission-focussed Research Programs, the CRC will allow aviation operators, transportation users, service providers, and government regulatory and licensing authorities to optimise the introduction of AAM into the national transportation system: 1. Human Factors – Community, Operators & Passengers 2. Infrastructure, Digital Networks & Autonomous Operations 3. Vehicle & Technology Development 4. Regulatory, Licensing & National Airspace Integration
