About Australian Economics and Business Studies Competition
The Australian Economics and Business Studies Competitions were founded in 1991. Ever since their inception, the Competitions have been operated by an Organising Committee for senior high school students across Australia, and have since grown to become one of the largest competitions of its kind in Australia. The competitions target high school students with passion for business and economics issues. Students’ lives are enriched by the running of these high quality, challenging and meaningful competitions. The aim of the competition is to: • Stimulate the teaching and learning of Economics and Business Studies at the high school level • Foster and enhance students’ interests in the area of Economics and Business Studies • Provide an opportunity for students to demonstrate their skills by participating in a national competition • Encourage awareness of current economics, business and political environment • Recognise and reward excellence in the fields of Economics and Business Studies The Competitions take place in May each year and are conducted for all registered high schools across Australia.
