About Australian Esports League
The Australian Esports League (AEL) is Australia's premier provider of national esports competitions, fostering the next generation of esports athletes through structured leagues and events. Founded in 2016, AEL’s mission is to develop and support grassroots esports across Australia, creating opportunities for students and players to compete, learn, and grow in a professional and inclusive environment. We proudly work with over 300 schools nationwide, running National High School Online Esports Leagues and Primary School Esports Events, providing students with a structured pathway to develop teamwork, strategic thinking, and digital literacy through competitive gaming. At the tertiary level, we manage the National University Esports League, featuring over 28 universities competing in top-tier esports tournaments, helping bridge the gap between student esports and professional opportunities. We are proud to have a major partnership with the Australian Open, delivering the AO Schools Blockbuster Tournament in Minecraft, a groundbreaking initiative that merges esports, education, and sport to engage students in creative learning. Beyond competitions, AEL is dedicated to educating educators about esports, providing resources and training to help schools integrate gaming into their curriculum as a tool for engagement, collaboration, and skill development. AEL also develops and delivers esports events for organisations across Australia, collaborating with DUKE4Sport, local and federal government agencies, renowned brands, and leading game publishers. These partnerships reinforce our position as the foremost esports organisation in the country. Join us as we continue to shape the future of Australian esports!
