About Australian Teachers Of Media QLD (ATOM QLD)
ATOM QLD Inc advocates for Media education in Queensland by providing professional development opportunities for teachers; advising education authorities on policy and curriculum development; and providing students with opportunities to engage critically with the media. Members of ATOM QLD have been involved in every major development in media education in Queensland. These include the several versions of the Senior Film and Television syllabus, the publication of Education Queensland's Media Curriculum Guide in 1994 and the development of the Queensland Studies Authority's Media strand of the Years 1 to 10 Arts Syllabus. Currently members are involved with both the QCAA and C2C team in implementation of the National Curriculum and the future of senior testing.
