About Autism a Hands on Approach
Our organisation was founded by Tanya Farley 22 years ago, initially as a conference to educate about autism. As a parent of an autistic young son, Tanya wanted to know as much as possible about the condition and to connect with others who were interested. The objectives of the organisation has always been to provide quality information, raise awareness and hopefully to improve services for people with autism. The conference has proved extremely popular and has become firmly established in the autism calendar as an event where parents, carers, professionals and autistic individuals have a chance to meet up, listen and network. The contributions from speakers with lived experience are an illuminating and valued part of the day. We have since expanded into running a series of online workshops which cover topics such as Autism and ADHD, Gender Identity and Autism, Autism and Eating Disorders, Girls Flying Under the Radar, Autistic Burnout, Conscious Inclusion, Trauma and Autism and more.
