Avant Construction Group, DBA AVANT, previously Opus Group, is a Jacksonville-based General Contracting company founded in 1997. We specialize in commercial and hospitality and adaptive reuse projects in Jacksonville's urban core. Collaboration is part of our tagline because it's part of what we do and who we are. A successful building project is the culmination of great design, engineering, building expertise, and relationships. We work closely with the project designers and owner to ensure the successful implementation of the vision and plan. Our years of design experience allow us to bring an added layer of creativity and efficiency to the building process that is unique in our industry. "We have the capability to not only imagine things, but fabricate and install them ourselves", says Alan Cottrill, in an interview about the collaboration of the design and buildout of the former HOBNOB Food & Social Exchange, in the Brooklyn area of Jacksonville. Collaboration and self-performance are the key to our success and what sets us apart. We pride ourselves on self-performing most of our work. This give us the ability to bring our years of design, building, and business experience into every project, often adding valuable insights into ways to improve form and function, giving our customers better cost control and workmanship. Though the majority of our work is in the Jacksonville area, our relationships with nationally well-known companies, including several projects working with the popular TV show, The Profit, have given us the opportunity to complete projects on a national scope, working in locations such as Chelsea Market in Manhattan, Miami, Milwaukee and California. Some other national chains we've worked with include Carvana, Francesca's Closet, and Marble Slab Creamery, and Simon Properties.
