About AVMO - Venezuelan Association in Missouri
The Venezuelan Association in Missouri (AVMO) was established on May 4, 2001 by group of Venezuelan nationals who came to Missouri, USA to start begin a new chapter in their lives. The idea was introduced by the first president of the society, Francyne Pereira. Carlos Alarcon then registered the organization within Missouri, and soon the board of directors were added. The original board of directors included: Octavio Pino (VP), Juan Carlos Luna (Treasurer), Arianny Bergolla (Secretary), and Alex Pereira (Director). The objective of the AVMO is to give back to the community and to serve as a means of support for other Venezuelans who have migrated to the United States. Additionally, the association strives to share Venezuela’s vibrant culture, delicious foods, and love of sports to the people of Missouri, while also providing educational scholarships to students. The AVMO thanks its members and generous corporate and vendor support, which allows us to fulfill the objective of the organization.
