AVTware develops and delivers software that lets you copy your (DEC/HP) Alpha and VAX computer based software to a modern system (x86 architecture) and continue to use your applications without making changes to it. Just replace the hardware, don't change the software! A quick and inexpensive way to prolong the life time of your existing software. The main products are vtAlpha and vtVAX that create the virtual equivalent of your hardware Alpha or VAX inside an x86 system. It masks the architectural differences of the x86 from the Alpha/VAX based software and you software will think it still runs on the same old hardware. Hence: no software changes necessary. The AVTware software installs directly on the physical host computer or any of the popular Virtual Machine products (VMware, KVM, Xen, Hyper-V). Per its design (Bare Metal installation) the AVTware software does not require any extra operating system (like Windows or Linux) to be present on the host computer. This avoids the extra cost for purchase and maintenance of these extra layers. Running Bare Metal gives the AVTware software full control over the host hardware bringing the security and reliability of the virtual Alpha's and VAXes at the same level as the original hardware. AVTware is a software engineering company that partners with Alpha/VAX and OpenVMS/Tru64 experts in the various countries or regions. These partners interact with the end-users of the product adding their expertise and local presence to the AVTware products helping these customers to make the transition from the retired hardware to a modern system.
