AW Architecture + Design is owned and operated by Alec Woletz, AIA and is based in Charlottesville, Virginia. Alec has over twelve years of experience in the architecture field, and seven years as a registered architect, with licenses in Virginia and New York. He earned his B.Arch at New Jersey Institute of Technology and thereafter worked for various firms in New Jersey and New York City on commercial, educational, and historic preservation projects. For the past five years, he has developed a specialization in residential architecture throughout the Charlottesville area, working closely with clients to realize their ideal living and working spaces. He has extensive experience with renovations, additions, and new construction homes. Alec's approach prioritizes listening to the client's goals first and foremost, and then drawing on his expertise to thoughtfully formulate the best possible design. He is responsible for each phase of the design process, and tailors every project to the particular client's needs. A passion for good design has motivated Alec for as long as he can remember, from his first Lego blocks to façade inspections on a scaffold 500 feet above the street.
