As individuals we can have a tremendous impact on our lives, the lives of other people around us and certainly on our environment. This is an ethos the the Founder of Awaken Leadership Center, Betsy Haigh, was taught as a child. Actually, the ethos extends to the fact that if we can have an impact, then we should have as positive an impact as possible in our lives, the lives of the people around us and in our environment. The purpose of Awaken Leadership Center and the personal drive for Betsy Haigh is to empower people to realize how they can have as positive an impact as possible in their leadership. And we are all leaders, we all impact other people. The question becomes, ‘What kind of impact do we want to have?’ Betsy Haigh connects this ethos with her doctoral research and the seminal research done by Alfred Bandura. Dr. Bandura discovered, researched, and articulated social cognitive theory and self-efficacy. Self-efficacy is the belief of an individual that they can influence their reality, or they can ‘Create Their Own Future.” Betsy Haigh has defined a leadership model entitled “Efficacious Leadership” in which leaders create a culture that empowers people to realize their unique gifts and talents. Through individual coaching, team/organizational consulting, and motivational speaking Betsy Haigh inspires, motivates, and empowers people to create their own future and to be an Efficacious Leaders.
