About Awaken the Arts!

Awaken the Arts! is a non-profit organization which seeks to bring the arts back to the students in at-risk schools and communities. In today’s challenging economy, school systems are cutting the budgets of programs that they deem to be “less important.” These programs are often what keep troubled teens afloat amidst the many challenges of living and going to schools in at-risk communities. We live in a time and place where The Arts take a backseat to math, science, & “teaching to the tests”. Data proves that students whose lives are rich in The Arts score consistently higher on the SATs. When staff positions are limited, the Arts are the first to go. It is a tragedy that devolves our nation’s cultural basis. Awaken the Arts! seeks to provide an arena for the students that intend to pursue a career in the arts. Through partnerships with schools and charitable organizations, Trilateral provides portfolio support to gifted high school students in At-risk communities. Programs are available for young artists excelling in the visual & performing arts. In order to be considered, artists must present a body of work in the form of a digital portfolio. 2-D, 3-D, and video submissions will be considered.
