About B'nai B'rith Housing
B’nai B’rith Housing (BBH) is a regional nonprofit housing developer whose mission is to ease the housing crisis in the Greater Boston area. We work with cities and towns to create economically viable, affordable housing options which respond to the needs and aspirations of each community. Our housing, both rental and home ownership, is for young families and older adults, regardless of religion or background. We build affordable housing that is key to economic growth in the region. Without transit-oriented, workforce, and family housing, Massachusetts companies will struggle to retain their workforce as residents leave for less expensive areas of the country. For both individuals and people with young families, the cost of housing is so high that they are often priced out of the communities where they are employed. Smart growth and transit oriented projects – including BBH’s nationally award-winning, 57 unit mixed-income ownership community in the City of Newton – are an innovative solution to the lack of affordable housing available in the Greater Boston area. Our award-winning, service-enriched senior housing allows our growing senior population to age in place. Where once downsizing meant having to leave the community you called home, now seniors in Sudbury, Brighton and – soon – Swampscott, have an affordable option. Our service-enriched model is considered the gold standard for senior affordable housing because it meets both the social and service needs of its residents.
