About BABEKÜHL : Creative studio

Babekühl /babe*cool/ is a design-driven art collective, a multi-disciplinary mix of artists, designers, musicians, photographers, animators, and film-makers with a deep portfolio of multi-media projects. We seek to further understand the world around us, and our place within it. We create new media art without boundaries; art that interacts with - and responds to - its surrounding environment. Through collective decades of experience and experimentation, Babekühl has firmly established itself as an internationally sought-after hub of creators. Our team has exhibited art around the world, founded record labels, made award-winning short films, curated music festivals, started families, and participated in a million creative experiments in the name of fun. As a collective, we have created music videos, installation art, film titles, stage designs, and creative direction on a variety of commercial and studio projects. Our work has been commissioned by Justin Bieber, Sam Smith, the Free Nationals, Flight Facilities, the DMA’s, Vivid festival, Audible, Red Bull, Sony among others. In 2020, we launched a Darlinghurst-based gallery to hero the work of emerging local artists. As well as this, we design art installations and have exhibited commissioned items in pop-up locations throughout Sydney and Melbourne. Our work is accessible, autonomous, experimental, and crucially, ever-evolving.
