About Baby Twin Tree

Baby Twin Tree is a project inspired by my daughter Isabel, whose birth marked the beginning of this initiative. The idea was born while I was pregnant and running on a trail in Los Angeles, surrounded by trees that seemed to be watching my belly. There, I decided that when Isabel was born, I would plant a tree to be her twin tree sibling, following a tradition in many cultures. Baby Twin Tree celebrates a baby's arrival by planting a tree in a contemporary and sustainable way. It also addresses motherhood and consumption, reflecting on the ecological footprint of the little ones and how they are often surrounded by plastic gifts and unnecessary items. This initiative aims to raise awareness about the importance of distinguishing the essential from the superfluous and promoting a shift in our priorities. Planting a tree alongside a baby's birth creates a special bond and a gift that will grow with the child, encouraging a connection with nature and reducing the invasion of plastic gifts. While an individual tree may not change the world, when added to others in previously deforested areas, it significantly contributes to ecological restoration and the creation of "Baby Forests." Baby Twin Tree has the ambition to create these forests and nurture little environmental guardians. It is a simple and beautiful way to welcome a baby into the world while caring for the planet.
