My name is Rodney Ruge. I started in practice in 1998 in Redondo Beach working with Dr. Gerald Krause to form the Southern Calif. College of Holistic Health, (now Alta College). My role entailed developing and maintaining the Anatomy & Physiology curriculum for the college, I went on to teach hundreds of massage therapists over the next 10 years as the college expanded into two locations in the South Bay. In 1999, I met Dr Annie Donovan, and helped her complete her 24 years in chiropractic when I purchased her practice in the Del Amo Medical Center in the heart of Torrance. While teaching at Alta College, I met Violet Takacs in 2003, and by 2005 she left the dental industry, after 16 years in practice, and became my life and business partner helping me to grow our practice as the Executive Manager of Back in Action Bodyworks. In 2006, we introduced a revolutionary, high-tech form of Chiropractic to the South Bay... FDA-approved Non-Surgical Spinal Decompression Therapy (DRX-9000). The next year we joined Back in Action Spinal Decompression Centers, and through a collaborative effort among 50+ offices around the country, we were able to achieve a success rate of over 92% treating hundreds of patients, many of whom had never been to a chiropractor in their lives. As of April 1, 2013 Back in Action Bodyworks moved to its new location in the Airport Office Plaza, on Crenshaw Blvd. in Torrance.
