About Back Track Adventures

Back Track Adventures are an adventure travel agency based in Brisbane, Australia. We were founded in 1984, when Jim and Ray, two of our Directors, took a group of trekkers to the Annapurna region of Nepal. What followed has been a 35-year love for adventure travel. We are the experts in unique, off the beaten track experiences. We still operate treks to many different destinations, our favourites being Kokoda, Mount Kilimanjaro, the Nepalese Himalayas and the Indian Himalayas. We are also a fully-licenced travel agency and can help your holiday dreams come true, no matter how big or small they are. Since 1986, we’ve been closely associated with Peregrine Adventures, and more recently, Intrepid Travel. Their style of travel and experiences they offer align with our own ethos, and it is a partnership we are proud to maintain. We are also incredibly passionate and knowledgeable about the polar regions – Antarctica and the Arctic. We’ve been sending clients to Antarctica since the 90s, when it was mostly scientists and researchers down there. Antarctica is a much more accessible (and affordable!) destination nowadays, and we have an Antarctic tour to suit any budget.
