About Backcountry Women

WHO WE ARE Founded in 2017 by Ashley Moore, Backcountry Women is a social enterprise that started out as a way to help women build confidence, improve their outdoors skills, and connect like-minded people while spending time in nature. We have since grown into one of the top outdoors communities in Manitoba. During a time where so many of us spend our days indoors, and have become accustomed to spending time at home, frequent outdoor activity and community connection are needed more than ever. Backcountry Women aims to serve a diverse community of outdoors people - our mission is to create a judgment-free space & opportunities for women and other marginalized genders to experience the physical and mental benefits of being in nature. We encourage community connection and supply access to unique, quality outdoor recreation programming and education in a safe & supportive space.
