About Backpacks 4 Kids

We exist to provide resources that contribute to the care, safety and wellbeing of children and young people during periods of displacement from home and routine care. Our Programs: Backpacks Program The backpacks provided contain age-appropriate emergency clothing, toiletries and other necessary supplies (such as nappies, bottles and cuddle toys) for any child aged 0-18 years who is displaced from home. Home Starter Packs Program Home Starter Packs support families who are starting again after being affected by domestic violence along with various other personal situations, such as families starting again after facing homelessness and kids transitioning to independent living after aging out from out-of-home care. Anchor Packs Program Youth and Homelessness agencies approached us with a need for a different type of emergency pack geared to the needs of young people aged 12-24 years experiencing primary or secondary homelessness (broadly speaking sleeping rough or having only temporary, unsafe or unsuitable accommodation such as sleeping on friends’ couches).
