About Bags of Love
Bags of Love is committed to helping children in crisis. Because children are fragile, especially when removed from their normal lives, a Bag of Love provides a sense of security and hope. The child now has something that is his/her very own to hang onto as a “security blanket,†while simultaneously providing him/her with age appropriate necessities such as clothing, toiletries, and toys. Our goal is to provide a ray of hope for each child during this time of crisis. Over the last five years, Bags of Love has provided necessities and comfort items to over 5,000 children in crisis. Through our unique distribution model, we have been able to address the immediate physical and emotional needs of these children and help support the community agencies caring for them. What is in a Bag of Love? Each Bag of Love contains essential items of immediate need and is age and gender appropriate for each child. The contents of the bag provide a diversion from the scary time they find themselves in as well as comfort with the quilt and stuffed animal in each bag. Who receives our Bags? All of our bags are distributed through qualified partner agencies that assist children in Lane County struggling with disaster, homelessness, poverty and/or upheaval in their lives. Bags of Love is underwritten by grants, sponsorships, and financial gifts from caring individuals like yourself. Your support allows our organization to ensure that every child in need receives a Bag of Love. Because we are an all-volunteer organization with no paid staff, you can be assured that your gift will directly benefit the children we serve. By partnering with our organization, you will make a direct impact on the children in our community. We look forward to working together to fill this need.
