About Bailiss & Company

We are a structural and civil engineering practice with a deep understanding and broad experience in the design and construction of all forms of buildings and structures. The aspiration of this company isn’t so much defined by a particular sector or project type, but more by the people we want to design for and with. We enjoy what we do, and we want to work with you to provide great service and design. After all, engineering is only ever about people –designing buildings for, with and around the needs of others. Our strength is in solving problems. Sometimes the challenge is technical and large, sometimes it’s to provide a really good building for people on a tiny budget. These problems are solved with careful thought and close collaboration. We engineers have a bit of a reputation for being overly technical and opaque. It shouldn't be this way. Our role as engineers is to interpret and explain the complicated. Our role is to facilitate better understanding, design and building across the client, design team and constructors. Pens are always as important as programmes, and our commitment is to spend as much time as it takes in conversation or in person to ensure that good design happens.
