BAKA LIFTEC (INDIA) PVT. LTD was formed in Bangalore, India in 1998 with technical assistance from D. Bader Sohne Gmbh Co. & KG, Germany. It was the brainchild of Subrata Haldar, the chairman of BeaverGroup of Industries which specialized in engineering design,Mr R Balasubramanium and Mr.MS Satish. Mr Haldar noticed that there was a dearth of customized indoor material handling equipment being manufactured within the country. Indian industry, still largely relied on manual modes of material handling resulting in low productivity, and injury and strain to the workforce. Other companies had moved to mechanized modes of material handling, but had to depend on standard equipment which was occasionally ill-suited for the material to be moved. One size does not fit all. The machine has to fit the material and not the other way around. With this simple but revolutionary thought in mind, Mr. Haldar approached Mr. Eugen Blum and Mr. Norbert Kutz of D. Bader Sohne Gmbh, a German company that specialized in the design of customized material handling equipment. Thus BAKA LIFTEC was born - "Ba" from the family "Bader", its foster parent and "Ka" from "Karen" which means "small trolley" in German.
