About Bal Swan Children's Center
Bal Swan Children’s Center is a preschool that provides a welcoming environment for children of diverse backgrounds and abilities. Building on each child’s strengths and successes, the Center provides early intervention therapies and education services for children from infancy through twelve years of age. We are proud to offer the highest quality programming and curriculum, individual learning programs tailored to the needs of each student, a highly trained teaching staff with one teacher in each classroom holding a bachelor’s degree or higher and low teacher-to-student ratios in every classroom. Approximately 1/3 of our student population in the classroom has a wide variety of disabilities and 2/3 of our students are typical preschoolers. Our all-encompassing programs ensure that children of all abilities have opportunities for growth and development in social-emotional, language, cognitive and gross-fine motor skills. Founded in 1963, the Center was the first of its type in Colorado and twice chosen by the Colorado Department of Education for pilot projects to study educational programs for children with disabilities. The Center set the benchmark by which all other fully inclusive preschools are measured throughout the state. Today Bal Swan Children’s Center is among a select group of Colorado preschools to hold a 4-out-of-4 star Qualistar rating. The Qualistar accreditation program affirms that Bal Swan offers the highest quality programming, staff and facility.
