Balance Catamarans builds high-performance semi-custom yachts of exceptional quality for oceanic adventure travel. Our catamarans strike a careful balance between comfort, performance, quality, and value. Balance Catamarans produces performance sailing catamarans of exceptional quality for oceanic adventure travel. Our customers are mainly drawn from the ranks of serious voyagers, racers, and explorers. They come to us with a lifetime of experience and appreciate a build partner who is prepared to listen and work with them to fabricate a dream catamaran like no other today. Our design and build philosophy is to strike a careful balance between comfort, performance, quality, and value. Balance Catamarans was founded in 2013 by Phillip Berman, a lifelong sailor, and is headquartered in Florida, USA. The vessels are built in South Africa where Phil has close ties and a long sailing history. Balance has two factories , one in Cape Town and the other in St Francis. South Africa is the second largest catamaran producer in the world, and offers a wealth of boatbuilding expertise and resources. Balance Catamarans builds a range of semi-production, hand-crafted performance sailing catamarans of uncompromising quality, ranging from between 42 and 82 foot. The Balance Catamarans team are highly experienced sailors, yacht designers and boat builders with a passion for what they do. Together, the Balance team designs and builds high-speed blue-water voyaging catamarans that can cope with the worst weather nature can deliver. Phil Berman, founder of Balance Catamarans and co-designer, has 40 years of sailing experience and in-depth catamaran knowledge. Balance Catamarans are co-designed by award -winning South African yacht designer Anton du Toit of Du Toit Yacht Design. Anton has produced more custom catamaran metres and tonnage than any other yacht designer in the southern hemisphere. Together, Phil and Anton’s designs are innovative, gorgeous and fast.
