Balk Shipyard has been part of Dutch shipbuilding heritage since 1798, building a reputation for reliability and craftsmanship over more than two centuries. Located in Urk, The Netherlands, we are a trusted partner for superyachts between 30 and 65 meters, specialising in three core services: refit, rebuild and survey works. What sets us apart is more than our facilities. It is how we work. Our approach is hands-on, personal and built on Dutch quality, ensuring that every project is delivered with care and attention to detail. Whether it’s a full rebuild, a complex refit, or crucial survey work, we combine engineering expertise with a focus on reliability to create results that last. Our facilities in Urk are designed for world-class yacht service. We offer three climate-controlled halls with overhead cranes, a unique in-house lift system capable of handling yachts up to 65 meters, as well as dry berths and in-water berths for preparation, finishing and final outfitting. Balk Shipyard is proud to hold the designation of “By royal appointment, purveyor to the royal court” (bij Koninklijke beschikking hofleverancier). This is a distinction awarded by the Dutch royal family that recognizes companies with a long-standing reputation for quality, integrity and service.
