About BANES Parent Carer Forum
BANES Parent Carer Forum (PCF) is an independent, parent-led Community Interest Company (CIC) supporting families of children and young people with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND) in Bath & North East Somerset, from birth to age 25. Part of The National Network of Parent Carer Forums (NNPCF), which is made up of all 51 PCFs across England, we have a dual purpose of providing direct support to families as well as representing their voices at a strategic level, driving change and improvements across all services. As a not-for-profit CIC, everything we do is for our members. It’s free to join and we run a comprehensive programme of events and workshops, alongside a supportive telephone listening service. Run by parent carers, for parent carers, we are experts by experience and fully understand the challenges that come with navigating the SEND journey. Through surveys and feedback, we regularly gather the views of local families. These views and experiences are central to our partnership work with agencies and support services throughout BANES including the Local Authority, Health, Education, Social Care, the Police and Youth Justice Service. We are uniquely positioned to be able to highlight where local services, processes and commissioners are working well, as well as challenging when changes or improvements need to be made.
