As a customer-owned bank with B Corp credentials, we’re the bank for people who want their money to be a force for good. Many people don’t realise that the money in your bank account doesn’t just sit there. Banks use it to lend and invest. So your money is already shaping the world that future generations will inherit. Our responsible banking policy underpins what we do and don’t fund with our customers’ money. We don’t fund the fossil fuel industry, arms industry, gambling, tobacco or live animal exports; and we do fund our everyday customers, clean energy transition, affordable and accessible housing and green and sustainable investments. We’ve set a target of net zero emissions by 2035, which is the most ambitious of any Australian bank. A portion of our profits goes to support projects in areas our customers care most about, including providing community customer grants, and helping care for a 2,117 hectare conservation reserve on Wotjobaluk Country in Western Victoria – home to endangered species like the Red-tailed Black Cockatoo. We’ve been around since 1957, when we were the CSIRO Co-operative Credit Society, and have since joined with over 70 other credit unions and co-operatives, becoming Bank Australia in 2015. In July 2025 Qudos Bank and Bank Australia merged to create one of Australia's largest customer-owned banks with over $17.5 billion in assets and branches across NSW, VIC, QLD and ACT.
