About Bankstown Canterbury Community Transport
BCCT is a non-profit community service that transports Canterbury-Bankstown locals from door to door, assisting with the following services: • Escorted transport to and from medical appointments • Assisted shopping trips with someone to help with your load of groceries • Accessible transportation to hairdressing and health appointments • Organised social outings at a reasonable price with a friendly, familiar group. If you live in the Canterbury-Bankstown area, BCCT can help. Our fleet of accessible vehicles and our qualified staff and volunteers are ready to assist you. In a typical year BCCT transports more than 3000 regular clients, making around 65,000 trips with a fleet of 19 vehicles and a team of 35 dedicated staff. Our buses and vans are also outfitted with hydraulic wheelchair hoists. BCCT offers safe, low-cost accessible transportation to: • Individuals o Seniors, including the frail aged o People with a disability o Carers of the above o The transport disadvantaged • Local community groups Our accessible vehicles can also be privately hired, subject to availability. BCCT people are skilled, caring and experienced. An annually elected management committee consisting of volunteers from the local community directs the organisation. A highly trained team of full time, part time and casual paid staff plus volunteers carries out day-to-day operations. BCCT is one of the safest and most highly qualified Community Transport services in NSW. Our team includes: • Qualified drivers with first aid training • Front line staff trained in escorting the frail aged • Qualified staff ensuring customers enjoy a Covid-safe service • Staff who speak community languages including Arabic and Vietnamese BCCT has been serving residents of the Canterbury-Bankstown area for more than 30 years.
