Banyan Community is a Community Development Organization rooted in the Phillips neighborhood to transform lives by developing youth, strengthening families, and creating community. Banyan inspires young people to invest themselves in their education and their community. Youth are prepared to meet the challenges of adolescence and adulthood through programs that cultivate social, emotional and educational growth. Our youth have fun while they develop into committed learners. Programming starts in elementary school and works with youth through college. Banyan youth have a 100% high school graduation rate! Banyan brings hope to families by strengthening the relationships between parents and children. Our families have close bonds that enable us to work together toward a brighter future. Banyan helps parents become advocates for their children in all arenas of life, while children become an inspiration to their parents. Banyan connects members of the neighborhood with each other, creating bonds that encourage communication and belonging.
