Bára Whitewater Rafting offer an unique outdoor adventure called Tidal Bore Rafting. Our rapids are created the natural funneling of the river and the massive volume of water that pushes in. We can see a 30ft rise of water in just 4hrs! -3hr Tour- On this tour we start by heading out to the mouth of the Shubenacadie River and wait for the tide to push its way up the river. When the current changes the flow of the river it creates an effect that will create our standing waves (rapids). As we work our way up river we will find different sets of rapids. Then we will stop half way and enjoy some mudsliding (5-15mins depending on the level of the tide). After we rinse off, we head up river further, and hit a few more rapids. After the last set you can jump out of the boat and drift with the tides. -1st 1.5hr Tour- On this tour we start by heading out to the mouth of the Shubenacadie River and wait for the tide to push its way up the river. When the current changes the flow of the river it creates an effect that will create our standing waves (rapids). We will find different sets and have a blast! -2nd 1.5hr Tour- We start off this tour by getting dirty, mudsliding in one of the tributaries (5-15mins deping on tide levels) then work our way upriver to find some standing waves (rapids). After we do the last set you get a chance to jump out and drift up the river with the tide if you wish -Low- With wave heights averaging 2ft-5ft, this tidal tour is an excellent trip for families, new riders and anyone who wants to get wet and experience whitewater rafting Shubenacadie river style! -Medium- The Goldi-locks of tides- not too big, not too small- this trip is just right! With wave heights of 5ft-10ft, you'll get wet, and have a blast on the river. -High- Non-stop action awaits you on our high tides.
