About Barakah LDN
Barakah LDN is a grassroots community collective founded in 2021 by sisters Siham and Sagal Abdullahi. Their mission is to increase the participation of Muslim and minoritised women and girls in football and football coaching. They focus on promoting accessibility and inclusion for communities that have historically been excluded from sports. Through their female-only, free, and accessible football sessions, Barakah LDN provides a welcoming environment for women and girls aged 12+ to re-engage with sports. In just over three years, Barakah LDN's community has grown to over 350 women and girls, with more than 20 participants regularly attending their weekly sessions. They have also worked with organisations such as EA Sports, Copa 90, Chelsea FC Foundation, TRT World, Museum of London, Fulham FC and Foundation. Their primary goal remains steadfast: to inspire and empower Muslim women and girls to get involved in football.
