About Bard MA Global Studies
The Bard MA in Global Studies curriculum places at its center the theory-practice nexus, equipping students with a sophisticated set of theoretical and conceptual tools and practical experiences that prepares them to understand the contemporary global landscape. By emphasizing critical thinking, writing, and experiential learning, the program educates the next generation of global citizens to be actively engaged in the transnational public sphere. Students complete interdisciplinary coursework on a range of global topics, an engaged capstone research project, and a mandatory professional internship at an organization working in global affairs. Applicants to the Bard MA in Global Studies (MAGS) Program can choose between our two 1-year degree program(s); the CEU Track, a dual-MA program in collaboration with Central European University’s Dept. of International Relations, and the NYC Track, a fully New York City-based MA program.
