Hello and Welcome to BARErecovery (Be Aware. Recover. Evolve) When my recovery journey began in 2014, I was a single Mom and bartender with no idea what a life of sobriety looked like. Sometimes it was awkward and uncomfortable, but as I better understood my relationship with alcohol and learned how to support myself in helpful ways, I realized there was so much more to this than solely quitting drinking. That's why BARErecovery's foundation of lived and professional experience is designed to help others identify and understand unhelpful patterns, behaviors, and beliefs they use to manage imbalanced parts of their life. While knowledge is beneficial, it cannot alone create the needed connection between how we feel and logic. Relating through similar experiences is powerful and intuitively shares an unspoken sense of relief. When we feel understood, seen, heard, and safe, we organically permit ourselves to understand and appreciate that personal growth is neither linear, simple, or one size fits all.
