About Barista Friend

Barista Friend is a mobile coffee training service based in Austin, TX. Founded in October 2023 by Miranda Haney, Barista Friend is here to inspire folks from all walks of life to pay more attention, have more fun, and understand the value of a really freakin' good cup of coffee. In our classes and events, we brew specialty coffees from a bunch of different producers and roasters to give the most holistic view of the industry that made us! We have no allegiances to any specific brand; sure, we all have our favorites, but we're here to showcase all kinds of equipment, syrups, oat milks, chais, matchas and more. We hope it encourages you to explore and figure out YOUR dream coffee scenario (cuz we're all different and it's hard to make choices when it feels like someone is trying to sell us something). Our industry-level barista training program is a personalized blend of data-backed science, real-world application, and artistic expression. We believe in empowering people from diverse backgrounds, committing ourselves to continuous learning, and honing valuable life skills like self-confidence, mindfulness, humility, and creativity behind the bar. Most of all, we believe coffee should be very easy and very FUN!!! Sometimes, you just need a friendly Barista Friend to come over one afternoon and show you the ropes.
