About BASA Foundation

“BASA Foundation” previously named Bangladesh Association for Social Advancement (BASA) is a non-government, non-profit, and non-political organization established in 1991 to serve the socio-economically depressed communities in Bangladesh. BASA works in the fields of sustainable development, poverty alleviation, and empowerment of the poor (particularly women) through the provision of micro-finance services supported by a wide array of other development programs. Since its inception, the organization has focused on capacity building through training, providing basic education, Skill Development, General Education, Child Education, Agriculture, Food Technology, women empowerment, poverty alleviation through skill development and micro-credit support, food security & Livelihood, advocacy-related training, water & sanitation, Gender & Protection, Legal aid services, Large scale work on Waste Management, Closely working with Sanitation entrepreneurs & FSM, health & hygiene promotion, and addressing environment & climate change issues for sustainable development. Vision : A socially and economically developed and peaceful society, free from all kinds of discrimination and repressions where people live with dignity, security and respect for each other. Mission : To create a positive and sustainable socio-economic change in the lives of the poor and disadvantaged, particularly women, Indigenous peoples and persons with disability through micro-finance supported by various social development programs and services. Objectives: The prime objective of BASA is to develop the socio-economic conditions of the targeted beneficiaries through the execution of their decision and using unutilized local resources, participation in development activities and fulfillment of their legitimate rights.
