About Bat Masters

It began in the early 1960’s during weekends and summer vacations; working as a helper for the family sheet metal and roofing business. Carrying soldering irons and a firepot. Apprenticing. Being taught Old School craftsmanship; learning how to expertly navigate the exteriors of a variety of structures. Developing and carefully honing skills that would one day help give birth to Bat Masters, LLC. Learning where to look for damage, failures and unfinished openings which may allow penetration from outside sources. Learning how to repair or replace failed, worn, functionally obsolete and outdated exterior structural components. Repairs nearly invisible or looking as though it should have been that way all along. Secure enough to handle everything Michigan weather could throw against it year after year. The frightened mother and father with young daughter. Two late night intruders. “Please help!” Batman the beginning… Thousands of homes and buildings over the years… the feeling that comes from someone’s sincere gratitude, and recommending you to family, friends and neighbors. The bewilderment and humility when the media attention starts. The personal satisfaction ultimately felt from so many positive regional kudos. The Grosse Pointe Times; The County Press; The Richmond Review; The Flint Journal; the Yale Expositor; The Times Herald; Metro Times; Fox News… the headline announcing: “Batman to the rescue.” The reporter on camera: “Batman to the rescue.” Every project brings that same feeling of accomplishment when Uncle, Grandfather, and Dad admired a young boy’s determination, and Mom packed him a mans sized lunch.
