About Bayside Medical Group

Our origins date back to the early 1960's when Fred Appelbe ("Doc") started his practice in Sargood Street in Hampton. Dr Appelbe subsequently moved his practice to the Service Street location in 1966. It was known as "The Clinic" back then and it opened for patients on 28 August 1966. Hampton Bayside Medical Centre was formed in April 1999 when "Brightham Medical Centre" and "The Clinic" merged. What followed was a major refurbishment of the rooms at 3 Service Street, Hampton to create a modern medically equipped facility. Hampton Bayside Medical Centre has a strong commitment to providing the highest standard of general practice care for our community in the tradition of both "The Clinic" and "Brightham". In 2016. as the demand for our doctors grew, we expanded our services and opened a new branch in Mentone. The expansion heralded a change in name to the Bayside Medical Group. The Bayside Medical Group is dedicated to continuing to provide the high quality of care to our community. Our doctors are committed to excellence in General Medical Practice.
