About BC Technology for Learning Society
Our mission is to bridge the digital divide in British Columbia by supplying refurbished technology to those in need, while simultaneously fostering youth empowerment through I.T. training opportunities. By delivering ISED's "Computers for Schools Plus" program we've refurbished and redistributed over 190,000 computers across BC— part of 2 million across Canada. Wondering what to do with your old office tech? We accept donations of gently used computer electronics from government, corporate and individual donors for redistribution to: •K - 12 schools (public and independent) •Non-profit organizations with a learning mandate •Non-profit organizations supporting new Canadians •Public libraries •Indigenous communities/schools/friendship centres •Low-income families We empower approximately 20 post-secondary students annually with paid work experience, bridging the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical IT skills. Additionally, around 50 high school students participate in week-long volunteer placements, gaining valuable workplace exposure and the ability to hone their skills.
