About Beach Investment Group (BIG)
Beach Investment Group (BIG) is an honors-level course offered to CSULB students. It covers a full academic year and provides students with hands on investment experience by managing a portfolio of over $1.4mm between four distinct funds (49er/SMIF, Seegers, ASI CFAOC). BIG is proud to compete annually in the CFAOC Request-for-Proposal (RFP) Competition against other elite student-managed portfolios in the region and the CFA Investment Research Challenge (IRC) amongst other schools on an international level. Our group is made up of all walks of life at CSULB. We encourage any undergraduate or graduate student with a passion for finance to apply. We aim for diversification, not only in our holdings, but in the backgrounds and skill sets of our student portfolio managers. Our application process begins in the spring semester and continues throughout the summer. BIG strives to be a difference-making resource for the CSULB community. We continue to grow excellent partnerships with other student groups and departments. We encourage the valuable input from BIG alumni.
