About Beautiful Day
Beautiful Day began in 2008 after a late night, a few beers, and a couple of good friends wondering what might help newly-arrived refugees start rebuilding their lives in Providence? Our answer: Why not gourmet granola? It seemed like the perfect food: wholesome, natural, satisfying, beautiful. We loved making it, so why shouldn’t it change a few lives along the way? The real answer, of course, for what refugees need has always involved jobs and connections to their new communities. Starting a granola factory has turned out to be a surprisingly perfect solution. Fifteen years later we are now an established non-profit social enterprise. We still hand-make gourmet granola and bars (about 10 tons annually), while providing job training to about 100 refugees through 4 different programs. Our award-winning products not only nourish our community but provide each customer with an invitation to learn about refugee resettlement. These days we make more than granola.
