About Because We Matter Exotic Animal Rescue
We believe that rescuing animals and teaching their stories inspires conservation! Through our rescue & education efforts, the animals in our care touch hearts, open minds and inspire a community who believes in protecting our shared world and treating every living being with kindness. All creatures are connected in the web of life – we’re all here because we matter! We provide sanctuary to exotic animals whose lives are in jeopardy. The animals we rescue can’t return to the wild and need a safe & healthy environment to live out their remaining years. It’s our honor to provide for them and share their stories with the world. Our goal as educators is to foster a deep love for animals, cultivating knowledge and wisdom to protect the wild world around us. We demonstrate that animals’ unique characteristics are integral to their role in nature, and we celebrate our differences that make us strong. With our wolfdog ambassadors, we shine light on wolves as a keystone species, an excellent model of ecosystem balance. We hope to provide knowledge not just about wolves in nature, but their greater cultural impact and the rich contextual heritage that is created in human communities. We aim to demystify the villains, debunk the myths, and deliberately pursue the reality and beauty of nature.
