About Beckie's Tactile Knits

I'm all about tactility: how clothing makes us feel, inside and out. For me, knitting is all about the senses. The soft (or fuzzy, silky, cuddly, smooth, wavy,...) feel of the yarn as it slips through my fingers and onto the needles; the gentle percussion of the needles as the rows build; and the pleasure of myriad colour combinations chosen by customers. I also like to listen to music whilst I knit, to really get into the mood of the piece. My grandma taught me how to knit when I was a child. I recently reactivated that learning with the help of We Are Knitters (or, WAK), and now I knit using their patterns and yarns, because they stock the most gorgeous, touchy-feely yarns and the most comfy knitting needles to knit with, and I like that all of their products are all made from natural materials that are gentle on (non-allergic) skin. Recently, I made a few garments for family and friends and they told me I should consider selling them online, so I'm taking their advice. I love to knit, and especially for other people. If you enjoy knitwear that is handmade for you (I call it "knit-to-fit"), and that's created from beautiful, high-quality yarns, you'll like what I have to offer. All of my knits are made with care, attention, time and love. It is not a rushed process, but it is measurable. I will knit a knit-to-fit garment for you that promises to keep your senses happy for a long time. All you have to do is choose your knit and your favourite colour from We are Knitters, then tell me your measurements. I will then get started on knitting a unique piece that fits you perfectly. I'll be offering one or two tactile knit-to-fit pieces each season, as well as ready-to-wear pieces as they become available. Expect a range of garments/accessories, for a range of customers (women, men, and children).
