About Being Neighbourly

Being Neighbourly Ltd was established in January 2024 after the success of the same-named community Facebook group serving residents of Central & Western district, which was founded in March 2023 (Being Neighbourly groups are twinned with the Buy Nothing groups of the same hyper-local communities but go beyond the restrictions of non-commercial gift-economy Buy Nothing groups). Members of Being Neighbourly may use their groups as community bulletin boards, asking for tips, giving and looking for recommendations, sharing local news and can offer their personal property for sale or rental; and Being Neighbourly also functions as an online magazine providing high-quality, well written community-related write ups: of coffees, interviews and coverage of local businesses and regular input from a certified mental health professional. We have three types of members: Individual and Charity & NGOs who go free and Business Partners who pay a nominal annual fee to post on Wednesdays. Charity & NGO Partners and Business Partners are listed in our directories on both their local group and our website to increase their visibility and advance their causes.
