About Being There Films
Being There Films… also known as Daniel Kemp. Producer by day, screenwriter by night, renegade the rest of the time… But mostly, writing movies & dreaming of sharing them with the world. 🤓 I write stories with charismatic characters mostly told in real world, yet heightened settings… that occasionally feature talking animals, magical rainbow beams & the devil. But apart from those examples, mostly real world. Meaningful messaging, dramatic comedy & exciting set pieces are my aim. My influences include the Coen Brothers, Taika Waititi, Quentin Tarantino, Martin McDonagh, Wes Anderson… & David Bowie 🤩. I’ve had great feedback from senior execs at Dreamworks, Warner Bros, Searchlight, Film4, Channel 4 & more. Their encouragement has given me belief & a determination to see my ideas brought to life on the big (or small screen). It’d be amazing to sell or help produce one of my spec scripts, but I’d also love to be considered for writing gigs; whether commissions, dialogue polishes, writers rooms, or any other iteration, you’d get a highly dedicated, passionate and creative team player (or lone wolf, as you prefer).
