Bekmar is a privately held corporation founded in 1997. Activities through 2002 primarily involved the transition of pre-production prototypes into high volume manufacturing. Since then, Bekmar has narrowed its concentration and continues to provide cutting edge design and manufacturing of high performance gaskets. Specializing in Form in Place Gasket (FIPG), Bekmar uses CNC robotics to dispense a wide variety of materials onto almost any substrate for the purpose of environmental sealing and EMI, RFI and ESD shielding assemblies. FIPG lends itself to a variety of environmental seals and EMI, RFI and ESD shielding solutions. Multi-axis precision CNC robots dispense on 3D surfaces giving you a truly custom gasket. Whether prototyping, intermittent production, or high volume production, Bekmar is suited to produce a quality and cost effective solution. Jim Boeckner, founder and CEO, started his career at the height of the disk drive industry as a mechanical engineer at Storage Tech. He worked on a number of projects all while obtaining 7 U.S. patents from industry breakthroughs in flex circuits to novel designs for disk drive actuators. When working on a FIPG material for hermetically sealed drives, Jim transitioned to international sales for MI companies. A few years later, Jim realized the need for a U.S. based company that could provide the same quality gasketing and prototyping capabilities as those oversees. In 1997, Jim and Marie Boeckner co-founded Bekmar Corporation to fill the market demand. Since then Bekmar has been a cutting edge provider of performance gaskets and turnkey solutions.
