About Belarusian House Foundation
Belarusian House was founded in 2011 and has dedicated over a decade to supporting democratic processes in Belarus and promoting the Belarusian narrative worldwide. Our mission is to foster a democratic Belarus by backing grassroots initiatives, advocating for human rights, and celebrating Belarusian culture and identity. The 2020 protests in Belarus marked a pivotal moment for us. As thousands of Belarusians demanded change, many faced severe repression and had to flee their homeland. We assisted thousands in relocating to Poland and continue to support families of political prisoners in Belarus. Our foundation operates through seven key areas: Cultural Activities: Organizing events to preserve and promote Belarusian heritage. Representation Activities: Engaging with international entities to advocate for Belarusian rights. Media Activities: Disseminating information and collaborating with media outlets like NEXTA. Pro-Democratic Activities: Supporting activists and democratic campaigns. Educational Activities: Offering workshops, seminars, and financial support for studies on democracy and human rights. Integration Activities: Facilitating programs to help Belarusians adapt to new environments while preserving their cultural identity. Humanitarian Activities: Providing legal, financial, and psychological support to those affected by political repression. Our impact includes aiding the relocation and integration of numerous individuals, preserving Belarusian culture, and bringing international attention to the Belarusian struggle for democracy. Our media collaborations break through state-controlled narratives, and our educational programs empower civic participation. Belarusian House remains committed to its mission, continuously evolving to meet the needs of the Belarusian community. We invite you to join us in our journey towards a democratic Belarus.
