About Bellerophon Leadership

Our story starts in 2020, when after a full career in the British Armed Forces as a Paratrooper, Joe wanted a new challenge. He set up Bellerophon Leadership with the aim of sharing his many years of leadership experience with new audiences, and translating his military insight into an approach which could serve a wide group of companies and individuals. Kate joined the company in 2022 bringing with her a decade of experience across comms, engagement and the people experience. The name for Bellerophon Leadership came from the hero of Greek Mythology, Bellerophon, who first tamed and flew the winged horse Pegasus – the defining symbol of British Airborne Forces showing an armed man being delivered into the air for battle. Ultimately Bellerophon pushed his luck while trying to fly even higher to join the gods on Mount Olympus and died falling back to earth, the classic tale of triumph turning into tragedy. And a lot can be taken from his story. The extraordinary can be achieved if we believe in ourselves and push ourselves out of our comfort zone. But our greatest strengths can turn into our greatest weakness if not understood. Boldness and ambition balanced with humility and authenticity is what will lead to lasting success. Understanding each client’s potential is the first step with our approach. Every company has aspects of their culture which can be their unique magic – that time when the environment is right for the company, and everyone in it, to be at their very best. We spend time with our clients exploring and distilling what their company’s’ factors are, and creating opportunities for companies to champion and harness this magic; through company events, communication and culture projects, people initiatives, leadership programmes, adventure offsites and more.
