When Belong opened its doors in history-steeped Sadler Gate in October 2022, Derby found the edgy, inviting and opulent-yet-unpretentious hangout it had been crying out for. Shaking up the city's entertainment scene with standout cocktails, beers, wines, spirits and soft drinks served to the table by its vibrant team, Belong also boasts a freshly-prepared menu of Mediterranean-inspired small plates and stonebaked pizzas – designed for sharing with friends. We place non-commercial music on a pedestal, using the management team’s in-depth knowledge of emerging artists and understanding of house, electronic and alternative music to its full advantage. The venue’s playlists have been curated by well-followed Midlands-based DJ/producer Paul Lyman, and weekly sets from local and national DJs, jazz nights and Saturday brunch are just some of the highlights in our events schedule for 2023. The 120-capacity venue is available for private and semi-private events, offering festive season-perfect food and beverage packages for groups large and small. “Belong was born from a love of music and appreciation for atmosphere,” explains owner Greg Dufton, who returns to his old stomping ground of Derby following a 20-year career in large-scale events and international artist booking in Dubai. “Crafting an experience that invites, impresses and involves is no mean feat in hospitality, and I would like Belong to demonstrate a uniquely discerning vibe that represents the established team behind it.” “Derby is doing some great things to increase its prominence and notoriety.
