Our core business is the development and distribution of seed raised bedding ornamentals. Today Benary is one of the leading breeding companies worldwide in this field. Our professional quality products are offered to growers and young plant producers through our wide network of distributors and brokers around the world. Today we export more than 85 % of the seeds into 120 countries worldwide. Benary stands for premium quality flower seed for efficient young plant production and extraordinary garden performance. Benary was founded by Ernst Benary in 1843 in Erfurt (former Eastern Germany), which was the center of the European Ornamental Industry. How it all began anew... After World War II our family business was completely disowned by the socialist government and was refounded by Friedrich Benary in Hann. Münden, Lower Saxony, in 1946. Friedrich started from scratch and traveled all over Europe on his bike to collect seed for his new business. Benary operates three breeding facilities in USA, the Netherlands, and Germany! In 2017, Benary+ was launched in North America to offer an alternative way to market its products to growers in North America by making transactions more direct and efficient, as well as to increase the value for our grower customers.
